What Are My Priorities?
I am committed to improving our parks and recreational areas. By prioritizing funding and leveraging my experience as an appointed Parks Commissioner, I will ensure consistent policies and amenities that benefit our community. From open dog parks to more accessible play areas, together we can create a more enjoyable outdoor experience for everyone.
With our community's growth, public safety is more important than ever. I plan to explore possibilities with developers to donate land for essential services like schools and fire stations, ensuring that our infrastructure keeps pace with development. Additionally, I will explore innovative solutions for residential roads, such as reducing lanes and installing lights or autonomous speed radars, to improve safety for all residents.
Watch me speak up more about this at the Reno City Council Meeting - April 24, 2024
Our city's codes and planning need to evolve to meet the demands of a growing population. What was once considered minimal requirements, like parking spaces, no longer suffices. I will lead the effort to review and update these codes, ensuring that they reflect the needs of our community. Moreover, I believe in more community engagement when expanding areas, ensuring that development aligns with the values and needs of our residents.
